Fam, we’re banding together in celebration of Joy, Jocelyn, mom, mommy, ma, Joce’s, or whatever name you use to get her attention, 60th trip around the sun! Los Olivos will serve as party central as we all learn more about wine and the picturesque Santa Ynez Valley, but most importantly, we’re going to party hard! No lazy squirrels or quitters, we’re going all out to overload our olfactory senses and taste buds for this wonderful human being who means so much to our lives!

The Main Event
Los Olivos
Joy and Dereck’s mandatory stop on the way back from visiting the San Francisco area is the quaint town of Los Olivos. The BBQ truck, located at the entry to town, greets you with tasty BBQ and Willie’s short rib biscuits, recommended by Guy Fieri. Los Olivos has a number of wine tasting rooms, providing stories about the wines, their production, and how the wonderful landscape contributes to the complex flavor of the wines.

We will be ordering take-out from this fabulous bread shop that makes amazing bagels and what has become our regular stop for a loaf of bread for the upcoming week. This order will be to-go, eaten during the start of our ride to Solvang.

The final meal of the day. Great food in their courtyard, setting a relaxing ambiance while we dine.

Craft House
We made to Sunday, but we’re not done with the birthday celebration. Craft House will be serving up our final meal of the weekend during brunch. If you’re still up for it, Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s will be flowing, except for the driver. The menu is sure to have something for everyone’s taste or craving. Me? I’m staring at the Crab Cake Benedict!
